02/11/13 : 2012-2013 $15,000 Metallurgy Scholarship Winner Announced
This is to announce that Stephen Rooney of Montclair, NJ is the winner of the sixth annual Ellwood Group, Inc. Metallurgy Scholarship. He is a junior at Alfred University in Alfred, NY. Stephen is majoring in Material Science and Engineering and carries a 3.79 GPA. He was the President of the Alfred University Art & Engineering Club.
01/14/13 : Ellwood Group, Inc. (EGI) successfully commissions its new Vacuum Oxygen Decarburization (VOD) unit.
Ellwood National Steel (ENS) in Irvine, PA announced the commissioning of its VOD unit for the production of stainless steel ingots for forging, ring rolling and as electrodes for VAR and ESR remelting.
12/02/12 : Ellwood Group, Inc. (EGI) has completed the acquisition of the assets of Rose Machine in Houston, TX.
Ellwood Group, Inc. (EGI) has completed the acquisition of the assets of Rose Machine in Houston, TX. The assets were acquired by a newly formed company that will be the eighth operating division of EGI called Ellwood Rose Machine (ERM).
10/22/12 : Ellwood Group Inc. (EGI) has completed the acquisition of the assets of Chrome Crankshaft Company LLC, located in Joliet, Illinois.
The assets were acquired by the newly formed subsidiary of EGI named Ellwood Chrome Crankshaft Company (ECC). ECC will retain the branding of the former Chrome Crankshaft for marketing purposes. ECC will be integrated into and managed by the Ellwood Crankshaft Group (ECG).
09/24/12 : Metallurgy Scholarship Announcement
Ellwood Group, Inc. (EGI) is pleased to announce our Annual Metallurgy Scholarship. In the interest of reaching a broader, more rounded pool of students, we have expanded the scholarship opportunities and criteria. A $15,000 scholarship will be awarded to the top candidate; and up to three additional $5,000 scholarships will be available to well qualified students. The minimum GPA requirement has been adjusted to 2.75. This scholarship is awarded on an annual basis to talented and dedicated metallurgical students to encourage their pursuit of a career within the steel and heavy metal industry. Our goal is to encourage more students to choose metallurgy as their field of study and to recruit more interns and graduates into the industry, specifically to EGI.
